Grateful to have learned of the poetry of Dionne Brand. Thinking of all the waiting rooms in the world at this moment.

Watched Petite Maman before reading your post today. Thank you so much for drawing my attention there. My mother's name is/was Josephine, as was the name of the young girl who played Nelly next to her twin sister. Watching Petite Maman felt like a guided meditation, churning up memories and hopes and resulting in the beginning of healing of intergenerational wounds early this morning.
