This is all just amazing. Thank you. I LOVE Lorrie Moore. We went to high school together, but I never knew her really. She is absolutely incredibly brilliant. And Richard Powers - yes, that line in Bewilderment is what I remember most from that gorgeous book. In the pressurized, opressive, and dangerous world that has become teaching, thank you for your imagination and care, and hard work.
Thank you for this. I am a teacher who has recently been feeling weighed down by not only my own lack of wonder but the lack of wonder I am able to allow my children in an education system designed with so little space for joy.
beautiful poem and profound analysis, as always. honestly, it reminds me of something my daughter would say. the other day she made a wish on a dandelion and said "you know what I wished for? I wished that grown ups would stop bombing children, because children would never do that to each other."
Thank you always, Timothy. For your words and these reflections. And for Li Po and Coretta Scott King and all the insight and love you're sending here. I love your definition of justice -- loving expressed in the world. Beautiful. Appreciate you deeply! All the light & love.

Our public library has a copy of "Petite Maman." I put it on hold and will be able to watch it this week. Thank you for the recommendation.
"It takes imaginative work to support, heal, and exist within the aftermath of the harm caused by that charade."
Some friends and I were just talking yesterday about how the world shapes children.
Thank you for the link to the readings at Brookline Booksmith. Am almost finished listening.
Appreciate your lively weekly reflections which introduce me to the insights and visions of so many poets I've not encountered before.
