Thanks so much for todays! Not just the universality of loss, but even the very specific losses in today's poem (the uncle who died after losing his leg to diabetes) resonated with me. And what you wrote about shame and how it makes the burdens of loss so much heavier to carry- Thank you for that! (I actually needed to read this today.) Thanks for your posts!!!!

Thank you. The timing of this poem and the analysis came at a perfect time. As always I appreciate your close reading of the poem(s). Balancing shame and loss is something I hadn't considered before. It's like a new window has been discovered and opened.
