Thanks for this one today. This time of year is challenging, and it’s good to remember that we are not alone in feeling that. Looking back over the last year, I am extremely grateful for finding these meditations of yours and they have become a welcome source of insight and reflection for me. I really appreciate all of the work you do here, not only diving into some complicated parts of life, but also introducing us to these fine poets out there who we might not come across.
Thanks also for the book list! Only one I have read is inciting joy, which I loved. I will check out the others! Thanks again for all the fine work!
Appreciate you, John! So grateful for you reading and being in touch through these. Please do check out some of those other books! And let me know what you think. Happy new year!
The Wall was my favorite book I read this year. "How much life am I getting from this life?" changed for the narrator both instantly and gradually in that one.
Thank you as always for these insights. Happy New Year!
Thank you—I appreciate leaning into allowance rather than forging onward toward a grasping-after betterment (progress, ok). Also, I enjoyed and was astonished by Christian Wiman’s Zero at the Bone. And I had the great pleasure and honor to be a part of an art film-poetry project this summer with the talented Tyler Barton and several other fine poets and artist, Michael Hart. We read together at the Adirondack Center for Writing in Saranac Lake.

Thanks, Rachel! “The Wall” was remarkable. Unlike anything I’ve read. Appreciate you reading, and happy new year!
"... We can get from here to the next here."
Looking forward to a new year of Sundays at Ordinary Plots. Thanks so much for the generosity of your writing.
