Right next to your email this morning—it arrived at 1:01 am and yours at 1:02—was a newsletter spotlighting a poem by Ross Gay, “To the Fig Tree on 9th and Christian,” which is just about as perfect a shrinking of the space between as I can imagine. https://emergencemagazine.org/poem/to-the-fig-tree-on-9th-and-christian/ These two poems are talking to each other now! So much richness of thought here. The idea that language in relationship is so much a part of that love - yes. And I added two new words to my vocabulary today - carceral and asymptotic. Thank you Devin.
